We live in a world where our attention spans are getting shorter, so our future clients are usually not going to take the time to look through several of our galleries or read our life history, we need to impress them fast! If they don’t know us personally, how do we make a great impression?

YES – Stunning photos are impressive

You need to curate you best work on your website store front. Ensure your images evoke emotion. Avoid showing any less than par images. Your images need to connect.

YES – Your ABOUT PAGE and personalizing your brand is one of the most important ways to connect

A lot of photographers have amazing images. There is A LOT of competition out there, but one of the biggest ways to stand out to YOUR audience is by including your personality in what you show your clients whether that is on your website, blog, social media or in person. Give opportunities for people to relate to you and to get to know you.

YES – Winning Awards can matter. 

Whether they are the most prestigious awards in the industry or a contest for a bridal magazine, believe it or not, brides care! We have heard countless conversations of brides bragging about how their photographers have won awards with their work! Choosing a photographer that is recognized for their work, builds trust. It confirms with them that they are hiring a photographer that knows what they are doing!

PS: If you place in an any awards, don’t forget to publicize it! Showcase it on your website!

YES – Publication makes an impression

Just like awards, getting published can almost seems superficial, but again couples eat it up! Remember these clients may not have worked with you yet, so they can’t go off of how great the experience was quite yet, but they can be impressed that your work was good enough to be in an online or print magazine! This is why you see a lot of photographers with their award or publication badges in their email signature….it impresses people!

YES – A professional, solid brand builds trust

We cannot emphasize enough how a professional, great-looking brand makes an enormous impact on a future client’s trust, as well as the value of your work and company. An ok brand with great photos may be able to charge $2000 for a wedding, where an amazing brand with the same photos, may be able to charge $5000 for a wedding. This may be extreme and obviously there a lot of factors that effect price, but branding is a great investment.
