The client experience is not only reserved for the wedding day, we want our clients to feel important and loved from the minute they meet us to the final delivery. We want to be an ENCOUNTER. We want to be the first person our couples talk about when their friends are getting married. Matt & I were some of the first of our group of friends to get married. We were only 20 and 21 when we tied the knot and we were incredibly impressed with our photographer, so as soon as someone we knew was getting married, we were very quick to let them know that they definitely needed to hire the photographer we had! We want our clients to do that for us. Referrals is typically the #1 way how to get good inquiries!
SO now that it is the Christmas season, we look for ways that we can bless our clients. Here are a few ways we’ve spoiled our clients in the past….
MARRIAGE RULES SIGN
Our friend at Honey & Ginger makes signs and other things, so we got her to make 30+ signs to give out to our brides. We love gifts that can be used for a while and ideally invest in their marriage too. We wrapped it up with our branding colored ribbon and personally delivered them to our local couples.
COZY BLANKET FOR THEIR HOME
We stole this idea from Justin & Mary Marantz and our clients love it! We ordered blankets on sale from Pottery Barn and delivered them to our clients with a tag that said “‘Tis the Season to be Cozy”.
MORE GIFT IDEAS FROM PHOTOGRAPHERS
THAT LOVE TO SPOIL THEIR CLIENTS:
CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT – Stefani Ciotti
“I gift the double-sided Christmas ornaments from PRO DPI. Each side is a different picture from their wedding and then I put their wedding date on the image as well. It’s been a huge hit so far, the ornaments are beautiful!”
CHRISTMAS TRADITION GIFT – Dana Todd
“We get Sticky9 album magnets, use one of them and put in an ornament we find, and put the rest in their box, create a little ‘Christmas tradition idea list’ they can start doing or incorporating, a christmas card from us, then tie it up with branding matching colors, but christmas flair (with rosemary or christmas tree leaf).”
MONOGRAMMED MUG & CANDLE – Cinnamon Wolfe
“I decided to go with the monogramed mugs because I like giving gifts that are also functional as well as pretty. I also wanted to do something that was easy and would be related to their marriage, thus the monogram of their married name initial. I wanted to add something else fun and seasonal in the box, so I chose small candles from Target in various scents. Each gift cost just over $10 and I think my couples will love them!”
GLASS BOX FILLED WITH THICK PRINTS – Stella Throop
“Sending gifts to my clients is a key piece of the experience I want them to have when they book me as their photographer. From a date night gift card to a nice restaurant, or high quality prints in a fancy glass box with Christmas chocolates, I want my gifts to say, “I’m invested in you as a person, you are more than a transaction, let me spoil you!””
